Located in Villa Selva, Forlì (FC), Italy, Cierre Imbottiti srl is a family-run company that embodies the essence of Italian interior design and craftsmanship. Specializing in leather sofas, armchairs, beds, sideboards, and more, Cierre blends tradition with modernity to produce luxurious, durable, and highly customizable furniture that speaks to discerning global clients.

The story of Cierre began in the early 1970s when Romano Conficconi, a young entrepreneur from Forlì, left a stable job as a barber to follow his passion for upholstery. Alongside his wife Cesarina, Romano started producing handcrafted armchairs and sofas in the basement of their home. In 1974, they founded Cierre, named after their initials (Cesarina and Romano), turning a small family venture into one of Italy’s most respected furniture manufacturers.

In the decades that followed, Cierre grew steadily—driven by the founders’ commitment to quality and their deep understanding of leather craftsmanship. The family worked tirelessly, with weekends often spent preparing materials for the next week’s production. Even their children—Alberto, Stefano, and Varinia—grew up surrounded by fabrics, foam, and the scent of leather, eventually joining the business and taking it into a new era.

By the 1980s, Cierre had become a trusted supplier for major French and German furniture groups. In 1990, the company opened a state-of-the-art factory in Forlì, allowing full control over all phases of production, from foam shaping to leather selection. Over the years, the second generation transformed Cierre into a fully integrated brand, expanding its product lines and elevating its presence across Europe.

Cierre is now in its third generation. Grandsons Gianmaria and Leonardo have joined the company, bringing new energy and ideas while honoring the legacy of Romano and Cesarina. Their goal is clear: to promote the Cierre brand globally while preserving the artisanal values that define it.
